Dale A. Auer
Owner/Funeral Director
Dale was born and raised in the Johnstown, PA area. He was the son of the late Charles and Laura Belle Auer. He now resides in West Hanover Township, Harrisburg, PA. He is a 1964 graduate of Adams-Summerhill Joint High School in Sidman, PA. He attended Robert Morris College in Aliquippa, PA from 1964 to 1966. He then graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, OH in 1967.
He served his internship at Fyfe, Auer and Boyd Funeral Home in Philadelphia, PA. He then became a licensed funeral director in 1968. He purchased Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home in November 1975 and founded the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania in 1981. Dale also founded the Veterans Cremation Society in 1994 and Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services in 2004, later changing the name to Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc. in 2008. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
He is married to Sandra (Heisey) Auer from Palmyra, PA. He has four daughters, Heather, Amy, Samantha, and Ashlee and a son, Nathan.
Sandra J. Auer
Vice President and Trust Officer
Sandra J. Auer, nee Heisey, lives in West Hanover Township, Harrisburg, PA. She was born and raised in Palmyra, PA. She is a graduate of Palmyra Area High School. She is a Pennsylvania notary and has been working in the funeral business for over 20 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Dale, and their three children Samantha, Ashlee and Nathan.
Shawn Carper
Funeral Director/Supervisor
Shawn is the supervisor for Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc. and has been a licensed funeral director for many years.
He was born and raised in Roaring Spring, PA, Blair County. He and his wife, Patricia, are proud parents of two daughters, Lillian and Vivian. He loves spending time with his family as well as his dog, Bella. He enjoys fishing, hiking and skiing.
John "Mac" McCormick
At Need Counselor/Funeral Director
Mac McCormick a native of Central Pennsylvania and grew up working in one of the funeral homes in Millersburg, PA. He served as a Mortuary Affairs NCO during a portion of his United States Air Force career and worked at funeral homes in Missouri, Arizona, and Florida.
Mac graduated from the Defense Information School where he earned an Associate of Science Degree from the Community College of the Air Force in 1982. In 1990, Mac earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Journalism from Thomas A. Edison State University. In 1997, he graduated with the highest honors and an Associate in Science Degree in funeral services from St. Petersburg Junior College.
He now writes a monthly column for American Funeral Director magazine and he contributes frequently to American Cemetery and other funeral service publications.
Roger Clark

Roger is a native of Clearfield County, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and has been in funeral service since 1990. A graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science with an associate degree, he is the newest member of the Auer team. He currently lives in York, PA.
Jessica Thomas
At Need Counselor
Jessica is a native of Pottsville, PA. She was a 1999 graduate of the Nativity B.V.M. High School and a 2003 graduate of the New England Institute at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA with a Bachelor's Degree in Funeral Home Management.
She is also the proud mother of twin girls, Eva and Rylee.
Sara Pudliner
At Need Counselor/Intern
Sara was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. She graduated from Richland High School in Johnstown, PA in 2002, and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2006. She then graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science with an Associate in Specialized Technology in 2007. She started serving her internship with Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc. in 2008.
Amanda J. Seiders
Funeral Director
Amanda was an honor graduate of West Perry High School in Elliottsburg, PA class of 1999. She graduated with an AAS from Northampton Community College in 2002, majoring in funeral service education, and became a licensed funeral director with Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc. post internship. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and cooking.
Amanda currently resides in Harrisburg, PA with her husband Joel and two children, Damian and Sophia.
Joan Sophia Papa
Funeral Director
Joan worked for the city of Philadelphia for over 20 years in the accounting department. In 1999, she graduated from Northampton Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science.
Fred Cluck
Marketing
Fred started his employment with the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania and currently with Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc. He has worked for us for over 14 years. He and his wife Shirley have two children Dave and Jennifer.
Angie Neiter
Secretary
Angie was born and raised in Hershey, PA and currently lives in Dauphin, PA with her husband, Tim, and son, William. She and her husband are very active in their local ambulance service as volunteers EMTs.
Charles Eash
General Manager
Charlie is a graduate of Adams-Summerhill Joint High School in Sidman, PA and a U.S. Army veteran. He is a member of the American Legion Post 185 in Mount Joy, PA. He spent 25 years in retail management in the grocery business. Charlie has worked with the Auer Group since November 1999. He enjoys trout fishing in his spare time.
Virginia Irish
Bookeeper
Virginia was born and raised in Corry, Erie County, PA. She is the daughter of W. Porter and Marjorie Auer.
She graduated from Corry Area High School. She worked at Grice Jewelers in Corry from 1962 to 1971; for the County of Erie as a secretary for the Corry District Justice from 1971 to 1974; for the late William A. Peiffer, Esquire; then Paul J. Carney, Jr. and Thomas J. Ruth with Carney and Ruth Law Office as a legal secretary from 1975 to 1997. She then came to work for Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home and the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania.
In October 1972, she married Norbert C. Irish and in June 1977 had a son, Bryan.
Harold Johns
Maintenance Supervisor
Harold was born in Portsmouth, VA and was raised in Pottstown, PA. He enjoys antique collecting, gardening, old movies, and flea markets.
He has worked for this company for almost 10 years and finds it very rewarding.
Fred Saxton
Community Relations Representative
Fred, a community relations representative of Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc., is a Central Pennsylvania native. A graduate of Bloomsburg University, he taught high school English for 33 years. Fred has been very active in his community. He has been a member of several civic groups, has served on the borough council, and has coached Little League and Babe Ruth youth baseball.
Following his retirement from teaching, Fred worked for a small insurance firm, selling benefits insurance. In 2003, he joined Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania, Inc.
He and his wife, Sue, have three grown children and seven grandchildren. In his spare time, Fred enjoys fishing, as well as reading and spending time with Sue and their grandchildren.
Norbert Irish
Crematory Tech and Manager
Norbert was born and raised in Erie, PA to George H. and Evelyn Irish. He graduated from Strong Vincent High School. After high school, he served with the United States Navy. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he worked for 10 years with the Pennsylvania State Police. After retiring from the force, he worked for Beneficial Consumer Finance Company as a manager and retired from there in 1998. In the fall of 1998 he came to work for the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania.
He is married to Virginia and has 2 sons.
